BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, also known as BJJ, has proven itself to be an indispensable fighting system for any serious martial artist.
When BJJ first arrived on the MMA scene, many knew almost nothing about it. One after another, bigger and stronger opponents were being beaten by smaller BJJ practitioners.
Very quickly everyone that was interested in mixed martial arts realized that they had to include BJJ in their arsenal.
Jiu Jitsu is a Japanese word that means “the gentle art”. It promotes the concept that a weaker and smaller person can beat a stronger, larger opponent through the use of a technique, leverage & timing. The techniques include a variety of joint locks and chokes referred to as submissions. BJJ truly is a science. By utilizing leverage and intellect it empowers practitioners to utilize their bodies as weapons capable of immobilizing their opponents and rendering them harmless. As we say, your oponent will either “tap, snap or nap.”
Jiu Jitsu made its way to Brazil from Japan about a century ago. The Brazilians refined it and helped to develop it into what it is today. Wrestling, ground fighting, and submissions go way back in time and cannot be attributed to any one race or culture as they have existed in various forms all over the world. Almost every culture has their own form of wrestling and ground fighting, however, at Izza MMA we believe that BJJ is the most complete ground fighting system. It is the culmination of knowledge and skills that have been preserved from various cultures and peoples from ages.
Our aim is to make a positive contribution to the BJJ legacy not only here Kota Damansara, PJ (Petaling Jaya) Selangor, but globally as well. We have a variety of students with varying levels of experience.
Whether you are advanced or a beginner, you will fit right in.
They say most fights end up on the ground. For a BJJ practitioner, once it goes to the ground, the fight has just begun. Are you ready for your free trial?
